Emily Kirkwood

Growing up in a small house with three brothers in metro Detroit, life often felt confined; so I would turn to my favorite stories for comfort. Again, and again, I fell down the rabbit hole with Alice, I danced with Mr. Darcy, I found a bosom friend in Anne Shirley,  and happily ventured through the wardrobe door.

Now as an adult, when life feels confined, I like to use my paints as a way to revisit the worlds that meant so much to me as a child. I like to create something entirely new through them or to weave little stories of my own.
